Bring Sunday into your everyday.

For too long, we’ve lived two separate lives—one for Sunday and one for the rest of the week. Jason’s story challenges us to bring faith into every aspect of our lives. After a near-fatal skydiving accident, 8 days in a coma, and nearly a year of recovery, Jason started to understand the full power of his Lord and Savior when he called on His name when he was lost and needed protection. He was saved by grace, saw how God works in our lives, and realized we are called to praise Him in all circumstances and live our purpose.

Jason shares his testimony as a message of hope and faith—showing the redemptive power of Jesus and the incredible plan God has for our lives. Sharing his testimony may save lives, just as the lessons and scriptures saved his. Jason’s story shows how faith, scripture, and parables can guide us everyday, especially through trials.

The story of the crash

James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

A Story of Survival and Transformation.

I was landing my parachute when a huge gust of wind hit me from behind and slammed me through a fence and into the side of an airplane hangar at 30 mph. The impact thrust my heart from the left side of my chest to the right, badly damaged three other organs, and broke 20 bones. Doctors could not explain how I survived.

After enduring 8 days in a coma, 3.5 months in the hospital, and 11 months of rehabilitation, I signed up for a triathlon—even though doctors said I would never run again. 364 days after the accident, I crossed the finish line. Then I kept racing triathlons and started climbing mountains.

Why do I consider the accident the greatest gift ever given to me?

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.”

Long Before the Crash

My faith had been built on the rock. God had been preparing me for this trial my entire life.

8 Days Till Sunrise

A True Story of Survival, Rebirth and Discovering My Purpose in Life

This is a story about a man going down a path he hadn’t intended to go down where he lost his way. He thought he was going through one of life’s difficult trials when he hit the side of a building at high speed in a skydiving accident. And that is when his real trial began. The accident left him in a coma for 8 days. He woke up from the coma to a badly broken body that required him to stay in the hospital for 3.5 months and undergo 11 months of rehabilitation and relearn to walk.

He relied on the foundation he had built years before the accident to survive and recover from the accident. He was guided by the scriptures and lessons from the Bible that he learned throughout his life.

The long journey to recovery from the accident allowed him time to reassess the direction of his life and answer the question why was his life spared. This second chance at life revealed to him a new purpose in life. He promised himself that he would share his story and what he learned, to help others that are going through difficult hardships in their own lives.
